Pin Group

Pin groups allow users to create and switch between different collections of pins to display different pins as needed.

Users can create multiple pin groups, and each group can have different pins. When switching between different groups, the displayed pins will change accordingly. Each group has independent screen and history pins. New pins will belong to the currently displayed pin group. Closed pins still belong to the current pin group and will only be redisplayed when restoring closed pins under that group. This feature allows users to display different pins in different work scenarios, improving work efficiency.

Create Pin Group

PixPin has a default pin group upon initialization. When the user has not created and switched to a new pin group, all pins will belong to the default pin group. Users can create a new pin group via the Pin Group menu in the tray menu. Create Pin Group Menu

Group Name

When creating a pin group, the user needs to set the name of the pin group to distinguish different pin groups. Pin group names cannot be duplicated.

Set Group Color

You can specify a color label for the pin group to make it easier to distinguish different pin groups when switching. This setting is optional; pin groups can have no color label.

Switch to New Group

Check this option to switch to the new pin group immediately after creating it; otherwise, the current pin group will remain unchanged.

Pin Group Color

You can set different color labels for each pin group to make it easier to distinguish different pin groups when switching. Under different pin groups, the shadow color of the Pin window will also change accordingly (if the pin group has no color label, it will display the currently set theme color).

Switch Pin Group

When you need to switch to another pin group, you can switch via the tray menu or shortcuts.

Switch Pin Group via Tray Menu

You can switch to other pin groups via the Pin Group menu in the tray menu. The Pin Group menu will display all current pin groups, and the user can select the pin group to switch to. Switch Pin Group

Switch Pin Group via Shortcut

The default shortcut for switching pin groups is Ctrl + ~ (the key to the left of the screenshot shortcut). Users can modify the shortcut in Config - Shortcuts/Actions. After pressing the shortcut, it will switch to the next pin group by default. If you need to continue switching, you can press the shortcut again, or keep holding the Ctrl key and press the ~ key multiple times to select other groups.

Shortcut Setting Suggestions

If you need to set other shortcuts, it is recommended to set combination keys with modifier keys (Ctrl, Win, Shift, Alt). When the shortcut is a combination key with modifier keys, as long as the modifier key is held down, the interface for switching pin groups will not disappear, and you can press the main key multiple times to select other groups. If the shortcut does not have a modifier key, the interface for switching pin groups will remain for 2 seconds after pressing the main key. If the shortcut is pressed again within 2 seconds, it will continue to select the next pin group; otherwise, it will switch to the selected pin group.

Count Display on the Right of Pin Group

In the Pin Group menu or the interface for switching pin groups, two numbers will be displayed on the right side of the pin group title in the format of 1/2, indicating the number of pins pinned on the screen in that group and the total number of pins in that group (screen pins + history pins).

Move Pin to Other Pin Group

If you want to move a pin to another pin group, you can right-click on the pin, select Move to Pin Group, and then select the target pin group. Move Pin to Other Pin Group
