Save Formats

GIF

GIF has strong compatibility and can be played on most platforms. However, GIF is a quite old format with relatively poor image quality, and file size has no obvious advantage over other formats.

WEBP

WEBP is a newer image format with better compression rates and quality. Major browsers can play it, but some software may not support the WEBP format.

MP4

MP4 is a video format. You can save as MP4 format, which can be played on web pages (but usually requires the user to click to play). The file size is relatively small, and the quality is also high.

How to choose the appropriate format

If you need to put it on a web page or the software supports displaying WEBP format, it is recommended to use WEBP format.
If the software does not support WEBP format, it is recommended to use MP4 format and display it as a video. For example, sending a screen recording to a friend via WeChat, WeChat does not support WEBP format, so you can use MP4 format at this time.
If you need to play on different platforms or need to make animated stickers, it is recommended to use GIF format.
