Pin to screen
A pin keeps your screenshot above all other windows. It stays visible when you switch apps, so you can refer to it while you work.
Select an area while taking a screenshot, then click “Pin” on the toolbar or press Ctrl+T⌘ Command+T.
The screenshot becomes a pin. Hold it and drag it anywhere on the screen.
After copying an image, text, or color value, press Ctrl+2⌃ Control+2 to pin the clipboard content directly to the screen.
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Move | Hold and drag the pin |
| Resize | Scroll the mouse wheel over the pin |
| Close | Double-click the pin, or select it and press EscEsc |
| Restore the last closed pin | Ctrl+3⌃ Control+3 |

Annotate
The left side of the screenshot toolbar contains annotation tools for drawing boxes and arrows, adding text, mosaics, numbered markers, and more.
Select a screenshot area, then click an annotation tool such as Rectangle or Arrow.
Drag inside the selection to draw. Press Ctrl+Z⌘ Command+Z to undo a mistake.
When finished, double-click the selection to copy it, or click “Pin” or “Save.” Your annotations are included.
You can also annotate a pin: select it and press SpaceSpace to show the annotation toolbar.
Long screenshot
Capture a webpage, chat history, or document that extends beyond one screen and stitch it into a single image.
Select the scrollable content while taking a screenshot, then click “Long screenshot” on the toolbar or press LL.
Slowly scroll the mouse wheel down inside the selection. PixPin stitches the content as you scroll and shows a preview beside it. You can also press AA to scroll automatically.
When you reach the point you need, click “Copy and close” to copy the long screenshot to the clipboard. You can also choose “Pin” or “Save.”
Screen recording
Select the area to record while taking a screenshot, then click “Record screen” on the toolbar or press GG.
Click the record button to start and demonstrate your actions. Click it again to stop.
Preview the recording in the playback window, choose a format (MP4, GIF, or WebP), then click “Save” or “Copy.”
To include system audio or your microphone, enable the corresponding option on the recording toolbar.
Text recognition
Extract text from images, videos, or interfaces where text cannot be selected. Text recognition can run offline on your computer without uploading images.
Select an area containing text while taking a screenshot, then click “Text recognition” on the toolbar or press Shift+C⇧ Shift+C.
Review the result in the PixPin Text Recognition window. Select the part you need and copy it, or click “Copy text” to copy everything.
